About Me

My photo
Probably the most sarcastic person you will ever meet. When i'm serious it's probably a joke.. I love over-exaggurating, and I live in a complete mess. My bedroom is like WW1, a complete bomb site.

British Film Institute

Last Wednesday, the media group visited the BFI in London. It was a helpful and freezing trip, ending with our own year head leading us the wrong way home and me getting a snowball to the face.
I'm sure speaking for everyone in the conference, we all know what NOT to do. We learnt some helpful tips and tricks; I found the talks from the two editors of 'Monsters' and some of the Bond films highly interesting.
After a lunch on comfy sofa's, I personally enjoyed the past examples, one or two were amazing, maybe just the one, and a couple maybe not so, but we gained a knowledge of definitely not what to do.
Here's a short video of our trouble's there and back

Ridiculous (on purpose) editing and out first attempt tracking.

Heather and I were simply bored in our free time and decided to have a mess about with the iMovie, obviously Ms Foster found it mesmorising so asked for it to be uploaded. I'm pretty sure this isn't a reflection of our movie, so don't worry guys.

This was our first attempt tracking, it's clearly not our greatest.

Snorricam

Ms Foster has gone all out and decided as a class we are going to make a Snorricam. To be honest I don't have a clue how we are going to do this, but we will! Many of us have great ideas that could be produced with this camera, the shot would be pretty effective..
Obviously this is not going to be the easiest thing to carry off, some of our small media student may topple over, but I'm certain it will all pay off.

This is a video that reflects what the snorricam will produce, obviously won't be quite as easy to make as we can't casually 'make one after work!'.

Lily May Profile

This is our little star Lily May. It's just a little video for all of our many fans that want a small insight of what we had to go through (just imagine her older sister if you think Lily May's a maniac).

Se7en

Last Friday we watched the thriller, Se7en. It was most probably one of the twisted yet well put together films I have watched. The shots are incredible as well as the plot. The characters play their part so well, which create the build up for the end scene. I think the symbolism of God Vs The Devil comes across relevantly in this film. Kevin Spacey who plays the vulgar killer, makes you feel very uncomfortable without his face being on screen.
Whoever directed and wrote this film, are outstandingly intelligent. To think of such a plot that makes one jump, laugh and question your own sanity deserves a pat on the back (or maybe an award). I've been told that the film has two different endings, and I would love to see how they put together the second ending.

Character Profile

Character Profile stolen from my fellow media pals
A shot of Lilly looking intimidated by her father (me!)
Lilly looking depressed, possibly after the fact she was told she had to wear a nightdress
THE DEBATE! Do we tuck them in/not/roll them up?
The best part of filming with 7 year olds is the fact they have one of these
Millie sad she couldn't get goosebumps (cold-hearted vampire)
In the process of filming the close up of Millie smoking
Me showing off my fantastic filming talents
The amusement/annoyance of the day- Squashing of the many ladybirds

We started filming for our media project on the 27th of October and it went reasonably well. It was a very stressful and time consuming day. From the tantrums of Lilly not wanting to wear a nightdress, to the several ladybirds trying to get a sneak peak of the set. The weather didn't start to our favour but it turned out to be a sunny day, but our patience run out and we had to finish our efforts and decide to finish on another day.
